The library is alive… with the sound of music! After a year and a half break, Show Choir has returned to ACS. These dedicated students, many of whom are joining Show Choir for the first time, meet before school starts in the morning! They are just as excited to learn our church hymns as they are our silly warm ups – like the tongue twisting “Taco Bell Canon.” This week we started our Christmas music and we are looking forward to performing in December. Show choir is open to any student from 3-8 grade with an interest in singing, even if they’re a little shy about it. We would be happy to have you!
Apple-Solutely Fabulous.
Mrs. Kukuruza’s Second Graders had an “Apple” solutely tasty time composing a poem about apples. This week, we learned about God the Creator who created the apples we eat – and that one way of praising him is through poetry. After we were “inspired” by snacking on 3 types of apples, we shared what we thought of them, and enthusiastically began our simple poem. The students followed directions, wrote, cut, glued and shared their work with each other! It was “bushels” of fun!

Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara
On the Feast of St. John Paul II, our new Sisters began their ministry in Assumption Catholic School in Perth Amboy, New Jersey!
Mary, Beloved Mother of East and West.
October 22nd, 2021 marked the feast of St. John Paul II, a saint who has an important place in the life of Sisters Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara, who recently started their mission at Assumption Catholic Parish/School in Perth Amboy, NJ. Their community patron is St. John Paul II who encouraged the universal Church to “breath with both lungs” through deepening in the beauty of the Eastern rite. Last week, Fr. Ivan Turyk, Pastor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish, together with 60 sisters celebrated a Moleben — a prayer service of petitions, praises and hymns to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father spoke to Sisters about Our Blessed Mother’s love and care for all mankind and how Mary is never too busy to hear a sincere request for our aid and guidance. After Moleben, Sisters joined our new Sisters Sr. Veronica and Sr. Maria for a pizza luncheon and a short concert dedicated to St. John Paul II.
