Today is Parent Teacher conferences and report cards will be distributed! If you run into an emergency and need to reschedule, please email your child’s teacher. We appreciate you coming in and discussing your child’s progress and look forward to starting our last marking period of the school year.

All our classes have been to the Apple Store in Menlo Park for their Coding class. Please take a few minutes to look at the program and pictures on our facebook page and website – our scholars were so engaged and learned so much! We will be purchasing a couple of Sphero robots for use in the classrooms and are excited to introduce this new facet of technology to our curriculum.

Our 8th graders had Mr. Tchir, an author and motivational speaker, present to them on Friday. They truly felt inspired and excited to meet him and listen to his advice on planning, purpose, goal setting and working hard to achieve success. We thank him for visiting us and looking forward to developing our “Life Skills” series for the upcoming school year. A few important reminders….

  • Please review our calendar and menu REGULARLY – both are available online. This is the last marking period and very busy.
  • Grades 5th through 8th student’s $10 (Bishop Ahr & Union Catholic High Schools trip) will be used towards the Liberty Science Trip May Field Trip.
  • Surveys – we will be sending out a couple of online surveys to gather information for our AdvancED re-accreditation and to plan for the next school year. Please help us get vital feedback to make ACS even better!

Thank you for all your support! Please if you have any questions or concerns, give me a call.

He is Risen! Happy Easter Everyone! I hope everyone had a relaxing Easter break. Your scholars came in on Monday and have hit the ground running! They are back to their studies and preparing for the annual standardized tests. We want our students to do their personal best and ask that you help us ensure they are rested and eat a healthy breakfast. We have taken practice IOWA tests yesterday and today and begin the official test on tomorrow. Results should be received by the end of May, which allows us enough time to plan for next year.

Dear ACS Families,
Happy Spring….well, almost! This last snow storm took us all by surprise. Apologies for the late change in the school cancellation decision Wednesday night. I was hoping a delayed opening was the best option, but once Perth Amboy Public Schools closed we decided to close as well. Unfortunately, we do have to extend our school year by one day, so please note that Monday, June 18th (12:30 dismissal) is now the last day of school and report card distribution day. Graduation days will NOT be changed.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all our parents who participated in the Gertrude Hawk candy sale. I know it is an obligation for our Plan 1 Tuition Plan families but I am grateful that everyone went above and beyond with this candy sale. If you have any issues with your order please email me as soon as possible. All FSA fundraisers subsidize tuition costs and all funds come back to our students. FSA fundraising supports our building’s maintenance, special programs, curriculum enhancements and special projects.
A few important reminders….
• We are waiting to see if Bishop Ahr & Union Catholic High Schools will reschedule the play performance. If they will not, we will either return money to parents or apply it to the Liberty Science Trip (May Trip).
• Please review our calendar and menu REGULARLY – both are available online.
• Apple Store Field Trips: Please remember we need both permission slips!
Tuesday, March 27th – Gr. 2 & Gr. 3
Wednesday, March 28th – Gr. K & Gr. 1 Thursday, April 12th – Gr. 4 & Gr. 5

Dear ACS Families,

Happy March!  I want to start my first March newsletter by restating that safety is a priority at ACS.  Sister Yosaphata, Father Ivan and I are always discussing and trying to improve our Emergency Plan.  We abide by the City of Perth Amboy’s standards for fire safety, lock down drills and evacuations.  We pride ourselves with our strong relationship with our city Fire and Police Departments.  As part of our Annual Security Plan, we have decided to install new front office doors this spring.  If you have any questions or concerns or would like to discuss ACS’s Security Plan please do not hesitate to contact me.

Now for a  few Very Important reminders….
