Wow! Wow! Wow! What a Wednesday!
As part of Catholic Schools’ week, fourth graders are recognizing how far they’ve come.  Each student brought in pictures of themselves before kindergarten.  In their journals a list was developed of what they can do now that they could not do then.  We were surprised at all we accomplished. 4th grade had a look at us now day, to see how much we have learned since kindergarten, then enjoyed a movie in the afternoon.
Our 3rd grade class participated in Superheroes Day! They were tasked with choosing a influential person that have shaped our world. With there selection, they were diligently to create presentations and dress up to honor their memory. As they look up to these trailblazers, we know that one day they will be the leaders that are driving change to make our world a better place through Christ. What else happened today…
*Middles School had their board game day
*3rd – 5th grade participated in a scavenger hunt hosted by the 8th grade
*2nd grade ended the day with a movie
*1st grade made thank you cards for Mrs. Shumny

Monday: Catholic Schools Week 2022

Catholic Schools Week was off to a great start with some ACS trivia shared by Mrs. Lawrence. Did you know that ACS opened in 1963?  Did you also know that our dear  Sister Yosaphata was one of the first teachers in the school? She actually opened the school and then was here for 55 years! India Lillie and Gabbie D of Grade 8 shared their ideas of what ACS meant to them. Then two 8th graders shared what they love about their school – thank you Gabby and India-Lillie for your beautiful words!
During the day the middle school was treated to a midmorning snack of bagels and muffins, with milk or juice, and hot chocolate. This gave them the energy they needed to  participate in the first round of their annual Jeopardy game.  But that’s not all…..Grade 5 made pretzel treats and grade 4 had muffins to go along with their Magazine Monday.
Students in Pre k, K and 1 had a McDonald’s lunch provided by our FSA.
Students also started our “CSW Post it!. on their classroom door that contained their reason about why they love their teacher.
All in all, it has been a busy start to a great week. Check back in tomorrow to find out about the next bit of excitement taking place tomorrow at ACS.

Young engineers in the making!

2nd grade studied the engineering process during science class, and thanks to our brand-new STEM Lab, they were able to spread out to design and build “lunchboxes” that would  keep water bottles cold.  Our 2nd Graders had as much fun creating their lunchboxes, as they did checking the temperatures throughout the day, and overnight!
