Christmas Bazaar.
Assumption Catholic School Christmas Bazaar held on Sunday, Dec 8, was yet another successful fundraiser for future school and program updates. The bazaar featured an abundance of unique gifts, vendor boutiques, homemade treats, beautiful decorations, gift auctions and a meeting place for many alumni. ACS students and staff are thankful to all who supported the annual event. Special thanks to the Family School Association (FSA) for their hard work all year preparing for this even! See you all next year!

The sneaky devils have hatched a dastardly plan to travel through time and stop St. Nicholas from becoming the beloved saint who inspires kindness, generosity, and joy. Frustrated with the enduring celebration of St. Nicholas’ Day at ACS, they’re determined to erase it from history forever. Little do they know, St. Nicholas is no ordinary saint.
As the devils disrupt key moments in his life—trying to prevent his legendary acts of charity and miracles—St. Nicholas rises to the challenge. Guided by his steadfast faith and aided by time-traveling allies (perhaps a heavenly host!), he thwarts their schemes with cleverness and compassion. From rescuing the three sisters to restoring hope in dire times, his goodness shines brighter than ever.
In the end, good always wins. The devils are defeated, St. Nicholas’ legacy is secured, and the celebration of his day at ACS continues to inspire hearts anew. The Battle of Time reminds us that kindness and generosity are forces no mischief can ever conquer!
Terrific job Jr. Drama!

ACS First Lock-In Retreat: A Night to Remember!
What a truly special and unforgettable evening we are sharing at the ACS First Lock-In, filled with faith, friendship, and fun!
We began with a warm welcome in the auditorium, setting the tone for a night full of meaningful experiences.
Learning About Friendship
The Sisters kicked off our evening with an inspiring lesson on friendship for our 7th and 8th graders in the convent. They shared insights into what makes a good friendship, the qualities to look for, and examples of unhealthy friendships. Most importantly,
they encouraged our students to reflect on their friendship with God and how it shapes our lives.
Time in the Church
Next, we headed to church, where Father Ivan introduced students and teachers to the tabernacle and the candle that symbolizes Jesus’ constant presence among us. Together, we prayed Fifteen Minutes in the Company of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament—it was a truly
beautiful and moving moment. We also lit candles with our own special intentions, filling the space with light and prayerful hearts.
Faith-Filled Fun
Back at school, the energy soared with exciting activities that brought everyone closer together!
• Saints vs. Sinners Freeze Tag got everyone running and laughing.
• A Saint Scavenger Hunt had students racing through the halls to find Saints hidden throughout the building. Who doesn’t love running in the halls—without getting in trouble?!
• After a quick pizza break, we played Guess Who I Am? with the Saints we discovered. The students amazed us with their knowledge and creativity!
Ending with Reflection.
As the clock struck midnight, we ended the night with heartfelt prayer, some quiet reflecting, and a movie to wind down.
This evening isn’t just an event—it is an experience that strengthens our relationships with each other and, most importantly, with God.
Stay tuned for our 2am service (if they can stay awake!), writing Christmas cards for the senior’s Center and Divine Liturgy in the morning ….. and of course delicious breakfast! Did we mention that we are all spending the night at ACS?

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and National Walk to School Safety at ACS!
Today, ACS hosted a vibrant celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month, filled with delicious treats, great music, and community spirit! Students and staff enjoyed a tasty cafecito, guava pastries, and bagels, all while listening to lively music by the talented Mr. Alejandro. It was a wonderful way to honor the rich culture and contributions of the Hispanic community.
We were also fortunate to have the Perth Amboy Police and Fire Department speak with our students about National Walking to school safety, emphasizing safety tips and community engagement.
A special thank you to the Batista-Mejia family for the delicious pastries, the Zambrowski family for the coffee, and Mrs. Florez, Mrs. SueroDeLeon, and the FSA Board for making this event such a success! AND to our parents….thank you for spending the morning with us!
Together, we started our day in prayer! We said an extra Hail Mary for all our special visitors. It’s a true blessing to come together, build community, and celebrate culture here at ACS!

Rosary Prayer Service.
October is the month of the Rosary, and Assumption Catholic School students gathered together to pray the rosary and ask the Blessed Mother to protect our country and bring peace to the people of Ukraine. The Mysteries of the Rosary together with meditations were prayerfully recited by members of the school Sodality. What a beautiful service it was! Special thanks to our Religious Sisters, Sr. Veronica, Sr. Svitanky, St. Maria Trijtsi for leading our students in this beautiful prayer service and concluding it with a beautiful song “Hail, Holy Queen Enthroned Above”.
