During the visit to the school, Shevchuk was presented with traditional bread and salt by students dressed in traditional garb. To wrap up the unit the children had fun exploring the inside of a real pumpkin. They used the pumpkin seeds for art and they tasted the seeds after they were cooked.

Would you know what to do if there was a fire in your home? Thanks to an ACS parent and the Perth Amboy Fire Department students from Pre K to grade 8 learned exactly what to do.
Mr. Perez, dad of Nathaniel in grade 5 and a Perth Amboy firefighter, went over basic fire safety with all of the children. He introduced his fellow firefighters and explained the importance of knowing what to do in case of a fire. The firefighters also demonstrated what they would look like in their gear if they were to rescue someone trapped in a fire. The students were given the opportunity to ask questions and then were given hats, pens, pencils, and Halloween trick or treat bags.
