The 5th grade students did a fantastic job completing and presenting their Math “Pick A Project”. Students were able to select one of the three project choices and were then placed in a group to work together to complete the project. One group selected the bouncy ball project and had to come up with a business plan, another had to design a prototype ferry and several decided to build forts. The projects all related to concepts in the current topic and activated prior knowledge. They worked together in groups sharing ideas through the planning stage, all the way to the presentations. They can’t wait to complete the next one!!
