ACS teachers recently attended a phenomenal workshop called, "Creating Trauma Sensitive Schools & Communities". The seven hour professional development was presented by the Attachment & Trauma Network and gave teachers new insight on how a child's brain reacts to the outside world. Topics included ACE studies and research which teaches educators to recognize and respond to children undergoing stress and how to effectively respond to their needs.
All the teachers who attended felt this information will be a valuable tool in the classroom.
