Catholic Schools Week 2014 begins with Prayer on Sunday

On Sunday January 26,  the Assumption Catholic School students  came to the parish church  for a special Liturgy  to celebrate the beginning of the Catholic Schools Week. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2014 is "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service," according to the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA), which organizes the event.  Rev. Ivan Turyk  celebrated the Liturgy and during his homily he expressed thanks to parishioners,  parents, students, faculty and staff of Assumption Catholic School for the dedication and hard work in promoting Catholic Education. After his homily, four students Jordan Collazo ( 5 grade), Jillian Pogoda (6 grade), Katherine Perez ( 7 grade), Amarilis Rodrigez ( 8 grade) read their essays that focuses on faith, knowledge and  service at ACS to the many parishioners  and ACS families in attendance.
